West Roxbury Parkway Residence

Design challenge was to develop a new home on a busy road with visual and acoustic privacy, leading to 3 thermal boxes hiding behind a set of wooden screens. High efficiency systems, strong thermal envelope (external insulation, triple pane windows, continuous airsealing) and passive systems for daylight and ventilation contribute to the energy efficiency of the home. Interior is organized around a central stair that organizes the public and private areas over 3 floors, and also serves as a large central light well pumping light into all the occupied spaces.
